From 1981 t0 1983 34 C&O and 33 B&O GP30 units were rebuilt in Cumberland and Huntington with updated wiring and some Dash 2 modular electronics added, IDAC wheel slip control and D77 traction motors. The 16/567 prime mover was resealed and derated to 2000HP. The turbocharger has been retained. Conrad Yelvington carries 4 GP30Ms on their roster. |
