Title:
PRR 9876, EF-15A, 1964
Description:
Oil Power. Here is a photo that was published originally in the Pennsylvania Railroad Company's 118th Annual Report for the Year Ending 31 December 1964, page 15. Shown here is PRR engine #9876, an EF-15A built by GM-EMD in September of 1952, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in October of 1967 after just 15 years of revenue service. This photo reminds me of the lyrics from a Bobby Darin tune: "Splish splash, I was taking a bath; Long about a Saturday night!" The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
