Description:
Built by Alco in the Brooks shops in 1927. It is a Class J-4 "Berkshire" which was one of twelve built for the C&NW. All of these locos featured Walschaert valve gears. Their primary service was pulling freight and sometimes used to haul coal. Actual date and location of the photo unknown. (Obviously, not Chicago)
