PRR 5053, H-9S, 1950         
Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Modena, Pennsylvania, in January of 1950. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5053, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during October of 1913 and retired in October of 1949 after 36 years of faithful service. Note that the bell, generator, and main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. Gary Mittner Collection.
