The first of two shots taken from the Lime Kiln Rd crossing in Gravette. The train is moving almost due north here; getting a nose lit photo here is possible only for a very short period during the longest days of the year-one of which is today, the first day of summer. This northbound empty grain train has just crossed Spavinaw Creek-the truss bridge in the distance-and is climbing into Gravette. Hes just met a southbound M train, which is most of the way to Decatur at this point. Hell be easy to catch, though as he drags the grade through town. |
