Burkey. Here is the second of five photos via Raymond Wolfgang that were taken near Lewistown, Pennsylvania, c. 1938. Prominent here is an unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad Class M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" steam locomotive pulling a mixed-cargo freight train out of Altoona that's bound for Enola and points East. Note the semaphores on the four-track signal bridge in the distance. (#2 of 25) |
