The line from Bridgeport to Stevenson is double track from just north of the Tennessee River to this point. CSX owns the track, NS runs on trackage rights. This is the west end of double track at Stevenson. In the immediate foreground is the switch where the NS Memphis District diverges to head west. Im sure theres a reason they did it this way, but it seems to me it would have made more sense, and added some flexibility, to continue the westbound track and have a pair of crossovers. But, I dont run the place. |
