Here is page three of a four-page article entitled "Poppet-Valve Pacific." It was published originally in the October 1941 issue of "Railroad" magazine, page 67. This article concerns the installation and testing of poppet valves on Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5399, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during August of 1924 and retired in November of 1953 after 29 years of faithful service. |
