Nice original Baldwin builder's photo of the 1000 hp diesel built for the Chicago & North Western in March of 1945. It used an aspirated eight-cylinder diesel engine rated at 1,000 horsepower (746 kW), and rode on a pair of two-axle trucks in a B-B wheel arrangement. The unit was later rebuilt in November of 1956. |
