Kansas City Southern train 55 was descending the east side of the Mississippi River bridge at Baton Rouge behind GP40's 785 and 758, with an unidentified GP38-2. No. 55 was on its way from Dallas to the Norfolk Southern yard in New Orleans, and the bridge underneath the engines belonged to the Illinois Central Gulf. |
