Frankstown. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trackage in Frankstown, Pennsylvania, around noon on 17 October 1965. Shown here is the double-tracked Frankstown-Petersburg Secondary Line. Also visible are the "FRANK" block limit sign and telephone box in the middle of the photo, as well as the back of a whistle post on the right. This Secondary Line was built around 1903 and was torn-up around 2003. A bicycle path now occupies the space where Consoldiateds and Decapods, Mikados and Mountains once roamed. |
