Bowling Green Hill is the ruling grade on the KCS' former Gateway Western line across the state; gaining about 200 feet from the Mississippi River crossing at Louisiana in about 11 miles. Here a pair of SD70ACes hit the crest at Bowling Green itself with I-VNKC in tow. This section of the KCS is still jointed rail. |
