| FORT MADISON IA Sept 18 1979 -- Santa Fe GP20u 3038 basks in the sun waiting for a call to duty. The unit was built by EMD as a GP20 1138 in September 1961. After being renumbered 3038 in late 1969 or the first half of 1970 it gained its yellow bonnet paint after Aug 26 1972. It was rebuilt to a GP20u in November 1977. On Oct. 5 1998 it became BNSF 2026.
