Coast Rail Services GP9 1965 feartures unusual windows in the short hood. Originally owned by Chicago Burlington & Quincy (as their number 280, it became part of the Burlington Northern Railroads diesel fleet when the CB&Q, GN, NP and SP&S merged in 1970. BN 1965 had the short hood modified to an office around 1983 in order to accomodate removal of cabooses. Crews were unhappy with the design, however. |
