| SOU Pullman heavyweight 6 compartment-3 drawing room (6C-3DR) sleeper #2523 GLEN SUMMIT (Lot #4974, Plan #3523A/F, August 1926), built for assignment to the general service pool, later assigned to the SP and ACL, sold to the SOU at the 12/31/1948 Pullman divestiture, repainted to SOU version of Pullman Green as seen here in December 1954 (also numbered at that time), retired in February 1964 and resold to the Virginia Museum of Transportation, later resold to Steven Smith, later resold to Mid America Locomotive Services (Evansville, IN) as MALX #2523, resold in the 2010's to Iowa Pacific as SLRG #9172 and moved to storage in Alamosa, CO, resold in 2021 to the Aberdeen, Carolina & Western as ACWR #9172 and moved to Star, NC. Scanned with an Epson V550 from a duplicate 35mm slide, brand is unknown. |
