GN 24 seat dome-46 seat chair #1325 (Budd, Lot #9646-155, June 1955), built for the 1955 edition of the EMPIRE BUILDER, to BN via merger in March 1970, planned as BN #4605, which was not applied, sold to Amtrak in 1971 as #9465, converted from steam heat to head end power (HEP) in December 1983 as #9409, assigned to the AUTO TRAIN, retired in March 1995 and resold in January 1996 to Misters Beaver, Kirkwood, and Steplock, d.b.a., Montana Rockies Daylight (BKSX), as #800723, MRD taken over by American Orient Express in November 1998 as Montana Rockies Rail Tours, MRRT then changed in January 2001 to RailQuest America, but car retained by AOE and moved to shops at Western Junction, WA, in September 2001, used on trips in Canada as of July 2004, resold in April 2005 to CN as IC #800723. Scanned with an Epson V550 from a duplicate 35mm slide, brand is unknown. Date and photographer are unknown. |
