Shown here is a photo by Joe Perry that was taken from the 17th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1976. Passing ALTO Tower with an eastbound mineral train is Penn Central engine #6171 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are SD45's built by GM-EMD and rated at 3,600 horsepower each. #6171 was constructed for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "6171" in December of,1967.
