Acquired by RailAmerica in April 2011, the Three Notch Railroad ( TNHR ) operates over 34 miles of track southeast from Georgiana, Al. to Andalusia, Al. The TNHR interchanges with CSXT at Georgiana & handles approximately 1,050 carloads per year. Major commodities that travel over the TNHR include chemicals, polypropylene, fertilizer & agricultural products. A short line railroad with a direct connection to a Class 1 carrier, the TNHR helps link local communities in Alabama to the national railroad network & to the economic benefits that flow from that network.
