ATSF 2-8-0 #777 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Title:  ATSF 2-8-0 #777 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Description:  This 2-8-0 Consolidation type steam locomotive was built by the Richmond Locomotive Works in 1900 before the company merged into ALCO. The loco was renumbered 3053 after it was received and again in 1902 as ATSF #777 seen here. Specs - 57" drivers, 195 psi boiler pressure, 21x30" cylinders, engine weight of 179,300 lb, tractive effort of 38,500 lb. The loco finally was retired and sold for scrap to Commerical Metals Company on 11/9/1954. An unknown photographer took the photograph.

ATSF 2-8-0 #132 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Title:  ATSF 2-8-0 #132 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Description:  Built by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in September of 1880, this is the oldest surviving ATSF steam locomotive. The loco had several numbers to the years - #912 in 1898, 2414 in 1900, rebuilt to 0-8-0, restored to 2-8-0 as #132, in 1950 overhauled with the new #1 and name "Cyrus K. Holliday". Finally donated to the Kansas Museum of History in Topeka, KS and renumbered one more time to #132. An unknown photographer caught it while it was #132.

Description:  Built by Dickson Locomotive Works in April of 1898 before they joined Alco, this 2-8-0 is one of the oldest ATSF photogrphed. The loco was later renumbered 970. Disposition unknown. Specs - 57" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 21x26" cylinders, engine weight of 151,500 lb, modest tractive effort of 33,145 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo.

Description:  Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) built this 2-8-0 Consolidation in 1/1902 (serial #19999, class 789) The Vauclain compound locomotive was simplified in November of 1909 at La Junta, NM. The loco was finally sold for scrap to Luria Brothers on 9/12/1950. Simplified specs - 57" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 24x32" cylinders, engine weight of 203,115 lb, tractive effort of 49,500 lb.
