Album Info:Here are five original photos that I took while riding on a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Pittsburgh to Altoona on Sunday, 8 September 1963. It's worth noting that I did take twenty or so photos during my trip, but only these five merit publication. These slides are presented in the order that I took them.

Title:  PRR 8669, AS-18AM, 1963
Description:  PGH-ALT-63. Here is an original photo that I took after riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Pittsburgh to Altoona on 8 September 1963. Shown here (F to R) are PRR engines #8669 and #8671. Both are AS-18AM road switchers built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. They're pulling a 94-car mixed-cargo freight train past the Altoona Passenger Station on its way to Enola and points East. Also visible at the right are the last three cars of my passenger train as it departs for Harrisburg. Discernable in the hazy distance is the 17th Street Bridge. Photo taken from the 12th Street Footbridge.
