CN 4-8-4 #6211 - Canadioan National
Beautiful action shot of Canadian National 4-8-4 #6211 near Oakville, Ontario, heading up a crack varnish. The loco was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in July of 1942 (serial #69709). Canadian National preferred to call the 4-8-4 wheel configuration a "Confederation" rather than the conventional "Northern" type steam locomotive. scrapped 3/1960 Specs - 73" drivers, impressive 250 psi boiler pressure, 25.5x30" cylinders, engine weight of 400,300 lb and tractive effort of 56,786 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo but it appears to be a Dick George photo.
