COPR DS 4-4-1000 #100 - Copper Range RR   Contributor's Pick!
This DS 4-4-1000 Baldwin diesel was delivered to the Copper Range RR in April of 1947 ( order #72839) where it served for 27 years. In 1974, it and its sister 101 was sold to New Hope & Ivyland RR. It was last seen by a former New Hope employee in 1976 working a commuter line between New Hope to Philadelphia and still in original paint scheme. The date is approximate but based on the New Hope & Ivyland caboose behind the loco, this has to date after 1974. Forrest Trittenbach photo credit for this one.

Fred Stuckmann General That's cool. 1/6/2014 2:12:27 PM
Charles Schultz General Very neat with the high headlight. What is the engine to the left doing in 1975? 1/6/2014 7:09:24 PM
Ken Switay General The New Hope & Ivyland had active steam (4-6-0 #1533) pulling passengers during the early to mid 70's. That looks like a stored locomotive they owned based on the flat dome on the left edge of the photo. 1/7/2014 3:02:14 PM
Charles Schultz General Good knowledge Ken. 1/8/2014 10:21:40 AM
