Burlington Northern GE ''Slug'' awaits it's next assignment in the UP Provo Yard. Another railfan can be seen in the foreground taking a photo as well. 4022 is sandwiched between two former Mid-South GP10's purchased by the Utah Railway along with BN GE B30-7 No.4022 in the late 1990's.

Tom Beckett General That's not a "slug" which is a non powered unit that has only weight and traction motors, drawing power from another, powered, locomotive. These are actual locomotives, with a power plant and all the other equipment. The only thing they lack is a cab. They use a 12 cylinder diesel that develops 3000 HP. 9/22/2012 4:40:18 AM
