Death of a Depot  Contributor's Pick!
The weather is suitably gloomy as we visit Washtucna WA, MP 291 on the BN's 5th Sub of the Portland Division. The road is in the process of abandoning most of the line, which is the former SP&S Spokane to Pasco main. The depot is already being demolished . The town's water tower and other structures survive for now; the tracks won't last the year.

Bernie Feltman General At least it looks like a systematic demolition that will salvage some of the depot's material 8/10/2010 9:04:16 AM
Richard Olson General Sure would have been nice if they kept the line open. Thanks for the historical shot. 8/18/2010 7:26:25 PM
