Alan Fricker General This paint job looks like the old Oliver Mining scheme-they were in Minnesota on the Iron Range, and thsy did have Baldwin switchers. 9/27/2009 10:36:59 AM
Eric Reinert General This is an Oliver Mining unit. They bought it new from Baldwin in June, 1949. Model is DS4-4-1000(SC). US Steel Fairless works acquired some S-8 Baldwins from Oliver in 1980. I wonder if this unit went to them too, or if it was heading for trade-in or scrap? Info from: http://baldwindiesels.railfan.net/oim/index.html 9/27/2009 10:22:57 PM
